Lizzie Williams- Founder, President
Lizzie, a native of West Point, Mississippi, now resides in Northport, Alabama with her husband, Demetrius Williams Sr., and their two children, Desiree Nicole and Demetrius Michael II. Together, her family has actively served in missions across the country, including MissionLab in New Orleans, LA; Mission Arlington in Arlington, TX; and Mission Year in Chicago, IL—demonstrating a shared commitment to spreading the love of Christ.
Lizzie’s academic journey reflects both her dedication to education and her passion for serving others. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies from Marion Military Institute, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Family Financial Planning and Counseling from The University of Alabama, and a Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Later, she completed her Certification in Pastoral Leadership from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.
With more than 19 years of experience in education, Lizzie currently serves as a Collaborative Special Education Teacher with Tuscaloosa City Schools. Her background in education, financial planning, and leadership has equipped her to develop and facilitate numerous impactful youth training programs. Known for her strong organizational and project management skills, Lizzie has consistently made a lasting impact on the lives of the youth and families she serves.
Answering her call to ministry on June 26, 2011, Lizzie has served faithfully in many roles including Youth Director, Missions Coordinator, Minister of Students, and Minister of Christian Education. She was licensed to preach the Gospel on February 10, 2013, and ordained as a Christian Minister on November 15, 2015 at Plum Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Tyshawn Gardner.
Her commitment to service has been recognized through numerous honors and awards, including the Nonprofit Resilience Grant (2021), Dollar General Literacy Grant (2022), Junior Cosmo Clove Award for Outstanding Community Service (2020), Euless “BICK” Moore Award for Improving Race Relations in Education (2022), WVUA 23 Featured Teacher Award, and the Unsung Hero Award (2025). She is also a proud National Board Certified Teacher.
As Founder and President of Healing the World With the Word Ministries, Lizzie continues to lead with vision, compassion, and faith, dedicating her life to equipping others through education, discipleship, and community service—all for the glory of God.
Ronny Crowell- Treasurer
Ronny is a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is married to DeMeriam Crowell, and together they have two children, Nicholas and Natalie.
He has worked with BF Goodrich for more than 24 years and is also the owner and general contractor of Crowell Construction Company. Ronny is known for his outgoing personality—he never meets a stranger.
In his free time, he enjoys music, movies, deep-sea fishing, and construction projects.
Ronny is a proud graduate of Central High School in Tuscaloosa. After high school, he continued his education at Shelton State Community College, also in Tuscaloosa.
Brenda King- Secretary
Brenda is a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was raised, along with her three siblings, in the Taylorville Community by her parents, O. P. and Jessie Royster. She has been married for 35 years to Lujean King, Sr. and they have three children, Adrienne, Lujean, Jr., and Tyler.
She is a lifetime member of the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, located in the Taylorville Community where she was taught, and has faith that God is all-knowing, possesses infinite love and goodness, is all-powerful, and the creator of all things. Brenda has held the following positions at Saint Paul AME Church: Youth Director, Christian Education Director, and Trustee.
She is currently enjoying retirement after 35 years of employment with the Tuscaloosa City Schools, 36 with the state of Alabama, where she held the following positions: instructional aide, special education teacher, lead special education teacher, and site facilitator of the afterschool program. As a special educator, she provided specially designed instruction, support, and services to students with diverse disabilities. Awards she received during her 35 years as an educator include being nominated as teacher of the year and Jacksonville State University teacher hall of fame nominee.
Brenda is a graduate of Holt High School, located in the Holt Community. After high school, she attended the Alabama State University located in Montgomery, Alabama where she graduated with a BS in Psychology, and an MS in special education. She obtained an educational leadership certification from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Brenda’s future goals include completing her dissertation and to graduate from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida with an EDD in special education.
DeMeriam Crowell, Board Member
DeMeriam is a life-long resident in Tuscaloosa. She is married to Ronny Crowell, and they have two children, Nicholas and Natalie Crowell. She is a RN nurse and has worked in the medical field for over 38 years. She was formally employed at DCH Medical Center where she was the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Medical Intensive Care Unit for 8 years. DeMeriam is currently employed with Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was chosen for the 2020 Excellence in Nursing RN Award.
DeMeriam is a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church where she is the president of the Medical Responders ministry. She enjoys church, movies, and cooking.
DeMeriam is a graduate of Central High School, located in Tuscaloosa, AL. After high school, she attended Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, AL and University Capstone College of Nursing.
Demetrius Williams, Board Member
Demetrius Williams is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the eldest of three siblings. A proud graduate of Central High School, he went on to attend Shelton State Community College to further his education.
Demetrius is a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he faithfully serves as a Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Over the years, he has also shared his gifts as a church musician and as part of the Mission Team. With a heart for evangelism and outreach, Demetrius has long been committed to empowering people through community projects, missions, and personal acts of service.
Professionally, Demetrius has built a strong career at ZF Chassis Systems, LLC, where he has worked in production for 27 years and currently serves as a Team Leader. His dedication has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Attendance Award, 20 Years’ Service Award, and 25 Years’ Service Award.
Grounded in faith and purpose, Demetrius is passionate about helping people discover and live out their God-given potential. His future goals center on continuing to serve his community and inspiring others to reach their purpose in life.
Cynthia McCoy, Board Member
Cynthia resides in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she is well known for her compassionate heart and genuine love for people. As the mother of several foster children and the sister of four brothers, she treasures both family and community. She is also a faithful member of The Temple of Glory Church.
Cynthia is employed with Kings Group Home and Meals on Wheels, where she extends her passion for caring for others. A proud veteran, she faithfully served in the United States Army for four years, embodying discipline, commitment, and service.
With a calling to feed both the body and soul, Cynthia never meets a stranger. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that everyone she encounters knows that Jesus loves them.
Michael Rogers, Board Member
Michael Jamiel Rogers Jr. born on September 24, 1981, to Michael and LaQuita Rogers in Birmingham, Alabama. A proud graduate of the Birmingham City School System, having attended West End High School. Continuing his education, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Stillman College. Additionally, he obtained certifications in personal training and gym management from Shelton State Community College.
Michael currently serves the Tuscaloosa City Schools System as a special needs bus driver, ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students. He also applies his leadership and management skills as a Kitchen Manager at Urban Bar and Kitchen. His diverse professional background highlights his dedication to service and his community.
For over 13 years, Michael has been happily married to his wife, M’Ericka Rogers. Together, they share one son, Michael Karson Rogers, who is sixteen years old. A devoted husband and father, Michael values family, hard work, and making a positive impact in his community.
Corey Hunter, Board Member
Corey Hunter is a dedicated community leader, entrepreneur, and man of unwavering faith who acknowledges God as the head of his life. A committed member of Bethel Baptist Church, Corey actively contributes to nurturing both spiritual growth and community well-being.
He is the proud owner of Hunter’s Lawn and Grounds Maintenance, where his entrepreneurial drive is matched by his commitment to serving others. A 2012 graduate of Bryant High School, Corey remains deeply rooted in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the values instilled in him by family, faith, and community.
An avid outdoorsman, Corey finds joy in hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. As a proud member of the Wheels and Spokes Motorcycle Club, he continues to seek opportunities to uplift his community and honor God through every aspect of his life.
Sebrenia Clancy
Sebrenia Clancy is a retired Special Needs Paraeducator from Tuscaloosa County Schools, where she faithfully served students with care and dedication. A proud graduate of Holt High School, she later continued her education at Virginia College, earning her degree in Medical Billing and Coding.
Residing in Cottondale, Alabama, Sebrenia is passionate about advocating for children and adults with disabilities, using her voice and experience to ensure equity, inclusion, and opportunity for all. She enjoys reading fiction and cherishing time with her husband, Cedric Clancy, and their children—Sekera McKanstry, Brittany Clancy, and Alisha Clancy.
As a member of Healing the World With the Word Ministries, Sebrenia looks forward to sharing her heart for service and continuing her lifelong mission of making a difference in the lives of others.
